In the historic town of Banská Štiavnica (Slovakia), a young Andrej Sládkovič fell in love with Mária (Marína) Pišlová. Their love was real, but it was not destined to become a life together. Separated by circumstances, Sládkovič transformed his feelings for Marína into poetry. Written in 1844–1845 and published in 1846, Marína became one of the greatest works of Slovak Romanticism - a celebration not only of love for a woman, but also of beauty, youth and homeland. With approximately 2,900 verses, Marína is regarded as the longest love poem in the world. Almost two centuries later, the story of Andrej and Marína continues to live on.
The Biatec Marína Set was created as a tribute to that timeless story - two mechanical watches, united by one love.
I may abstain from your lips,
I may not be given your hand,
I may run far away in sorrow,
I may become unkind,
My lips may be dying of thirst,
I may be grieving in solitude,
I may entrap life in deserts,
I may not live in my life,
I may even obliterate myself:
but I am incapable of not loving you!

Sweet desires, desires for love
I'm singing, with beauty enthused,
and within this response of my very soul
The whole world of mine is enclosed;
From the heights of the Tatras, she casts the light,
She flies out of the heavenly fires,
She has been moving my worlds;
She's been waving towards me from hundreds of lives:
But the centre, the element, the heaven, the unity
of all my beauties is her – my Marina!

*Moissanite is the most adequate form of replacement for a real diamond, while it even surpasses it in some properties, namely in brilliance (sparkle) higher by 18 percent. Its high hardness ranks moissanite among the hardest substances on earth, right behind diamond. It is made in a laboratory and its production process has a minimal ecological impact and does not negatively affect the landscape, as the mining of precious stones does. It is not the subject of bloody battles and the reason for enslaving people. Moissanite is highly resistant to dirt and scratches. Basically, it can only be scratched with a diamond. The color of the moissanites we use is DEF and the clarity is VVS1, the weight of all stones per one watch is approximately 1 carat.
